These terms apply whenever you use TheQuizMap. By using the site you agree to them, so please read them. They’re written to be readable rather than scary.
TheQuizMap is a directory that helps people find pub quizzes and get a sense of whether a quiz is actually on. We are not the organiser of the quizzes we list. Quizzes are run by the venues and hosts themselves, and details can change or be cancelled without notice.
We work hard to keep listings fresh and we show you how confident we are in each one — including when a quiz was last confirmed and by whom. But we can’t guarantee that any listing is correct, current or that a quiz will go ahead.
Always check with the venue before setting out or spending money on the basis of a listing. TheQuizMap isn’t responsible for a quiz that turns out to be cancelled, moved, full, or different from what was listed.
You can add quizzes, confirm that a quiz is on or off, and log your team’s results. When you contribute, you promise that:
We review submissions before they go live and may edit, decline or remove any contribution at our discretion. By contributing, you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free licence to use, display and adapt that content to operate and promote the directory.
Some features need an account. You’re responsible for keeping access to your email secure, and for activity that happens under your account. Tell us promptly if you think someone else is using it. You can ask us to close your account at any time.
When using TheQuizMap, you agree not to:
The TheQuizMap name, design and the compilation of the directory belong to us. You may use the site for your own personal, non-commercial quiz-finding. You may not copy or reuse substantial parts of the directory without our permission. Map data and imagery belong to their respective providers.
Listings may include information about, and links to, third-party venues and websites. We don’t control those third parties and aren’t responsible for them, their quizzes, or their content.
We provide TheQuizMap “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent allowed by law, we exclude implied warranties and aren’t liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss arising from a quiz that was cancelled, changed or inaccurately listed.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that can’t be limited by law — such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. If you’re using the site as a consumer, these terms don’t affect your statutory rights.
We’re always improving the site, so features may change, and we may update these terms. When we update them we’ll change the “last updated” date above. If you keep using the site after a change, you accept the updated terms.
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and disputes are subject to the courts of England and Wales.
